Privacy policy
What this website collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. Last updated October 5, 2026.
Who we are
Law Offices of Joseph Johnson, Inc., 4929 Wilshire Blvd, Suite 603, Los Angeles, CA 90010. You can reach us at joseph@josephjohnsonlaw.com or (323) 736-1529.
What we collect
- What you send us. If you use the contact form, email us or call, we get what you give us: usually your name, email, phone number and what happened. The contact form is handled by Formspree, which delivers it to our inbox.
- Analytics, only if you allow it. If you click Allow on the cookie notice, Google Analytics records which pages you visit, how you found the site, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (city level). It uses cookies to do this. If you don’t allow it, it never loads.
- Basic server records. Our web host, Vercel, keeps standard logs (such as IP address and browser type) to run the site and keep it secure.
We don’t use advertising cookies, and we don’t sell your information.
Contacting us doesn’t make you a client
Sending us a message doesn’t create an attorney-client relationship. You aren’t our client until a retainer agreement is signed and we’ve accepted your case. Please don’t send anything confidential until we’ve spoken.
How we use it
To answer you, to look at whether we can help with your case, and, if you allowed analytics, to see which pages are useful so we can improve the site.
Who we share it with
Only the services that run this site for us: Formspree (the contact form), Vercel (hosting) and, if you allowed it, Google (analytics). They handle it on our behalf. We may also disclose information if the law or a court requires it. We don’t sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
Cookies and your choice
The only cookies on this site are Google Analytics cookies, and only after you click Allow. You can change your choice any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a no and don’t load analytics. There’s no agreed standard for browsers' older “Do Not Track” setting, so we rely on your choice and on Global Privacy Control instead.
How long we keep it
Messages you send us are kept as long as we need them to respond and for our professional records. Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including California, the UK and the EU, you may have the right to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, and to withdraw consent to analytics. Email or call us using the details above. We’ll confirm who you are before acting on a request, and we won’t treat you differently for asking. If you’re in the UK or EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
This site isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect what you send us. No website or email is completely secure, so please keep sensitive details for when we speak.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
